Overtwoweeks,Gitcoin,aplatformforfundraisingbuiltontheEthereumblockchain,willmatchusergrantstoprojectsfocusedoneverythingfromeducationaloutreachtodecentralizedapplicationswith$500,000contributedbydonorssuchasKraken.
Kraken’ssupportoftheinitiativefollowsourDecemberannouncementthatwewoulddonateourfirstfundstoEthereumbuildersthroughGitcoin.OurgoalwiththisfinaldisbursementistohelpthenetworksuccessfullymigratetoEthereum2.0,acomingsoftwareupdate.
Amongotherchanges,Ethereum2.0willseethenetworkadjustitsmonetarypolicy,moveawayfromproof-of-workminingandintegrateahostofotherproposedimprovements.

ThislatestdonationbringsourtotalGitcoingivingto$150,000inmatcheddonations.
Thedonationfurtherunderscoresourcommitmenttothefutureofcryptocurrency,andcomesatatimewhenourclientsarealreadytakingadvantageofnewofferings,suchasstaking,forEthereum.
